  3. I enjoy this photograph. At first glance your not even sure if the person is a man or a woman. It requires you to step in close and notice things like the finger tips, eyelashes and nose. Thank you for posting this.

  6. Great lighting effects; I like how you focus on the facial area--there is a lot of emotion going on. Shadows,highlight--they are all great. Interesting shadow effects as well... I like your technique. I dont do much people and portrait photography(Im more of a nature/landscape/still life recreational photographer) but, I really like your style. I just recently started experimenting with portrait photography; I got a long way to go.
Im looking forward to seeing more of your work...

  10. the contrast is wicked, especially in the smile. guess you weren't throwing ice cubes at him?

however, my favorite part would have to be the wrinkes around the eyes, just the slight crinkle.

    hope you show goes swimmingly.

  17. I saw that. It was one of the Masters of Horror right? I saw all of them and Cigarette Burns was one of my favorites.

  18. Found myself returning to this portrait time and again so even had to save it on the hard disk you know).
There's some magic within it, like some sort of energy, and personal charisma, a rare character...and a story. There's a story captured and told with no word at all. And that rocks, really.
And it feels like this portrait's story is different from the movie's one. It's original and all-sufficient. As for me, it's even closer to me than the movie - from the aesthetic point of view or the inflexion or whatever. It doesn't matter, I guess).
To cut a long story short, it's awesome and inspiring.
So hope to attend your show in Moscow one day) Especially since you've made some of your pictures here.
